OZZY OSBOURNE: ' I Was Sexually Abused As A Child'
November 30, 2003Ozzy Osbourne has said in a newspaper interview that he was sexually abused as a child.
The former BLACK SABBATH frontman said the abuse took place when he was a schoolboy in Birmingham.
"I was sexually abused as a kid," Osbourne, 54, said in an interview splashed across three pages of Monday's (Dec. 1) Daily Mirror. "Two boys used to wait for me to come home after school.
"They felt me and touched me. It became a regular thing on the way home from school — it seemed to go on forever.
"I was afraid to tell my father or mother and it completely fucked me up.
He said he needed counselling later in life to come to terms with it.
"When I was a kid, people didn't talk about these things like they do now," Ozzy said.
"You didn't have chat shows talking about molestation. It used to be the 'Woodentops' and 'Bill and Ben'.
"I worked it out with a therapist. But if you have a traumatic experience when you are young it does fuck you up.
"[Wife/manager] Sharon knows all about it and it was only with her that I could finally relax and be myself."
Ozzy and daughter Kelly will perform their rendition of the BLACK SABBATH classic "Changes" on the German TV show "Wetten, dass..." (hosted by Thomas Gottschalk) on December 6. A European headlining tour, postponed twice due to Ozzy's health problems, will kick off on January 15 in Oberhausen, Germany.
